November 18, 2024

Staff from Enhance Healthcare took centre stage during a memorable evening at the 20th Annual National Care Awards in Glasgow, where they proudly received the coveted 'Meaningful Activity Award’ along with a well-deserved nomination for ‘Specialist Care Unit’ award.

Hosted by Scottish Care, this prestigious event celebrates exceptional dedication and outstanding standards of care across the nation. With 13 categories and over 20 care facilities nominated, the glitzy ceremony spotlighted the best in the industry, honouring both individuals and teams who go above and beyond in delivering top-tier care.

Sara-Louise Gregor and Leighann Bell, staff members at Townend Care Home, were thrilled to receive the ‘Meaningful Activity’ award after standing out in a highly competitive field. Their dedication to promoting independence and creating meaningful opportunities for residents has made a lasting impact on the lives of those they care for.

The ‘Meaningful Activity’ award recognises Sara-Louise and Leighann for going above and beyond in their roles, ensuring that residents not only maintain their independence but are also engaged in activities that promote personal fulfilment and well-being.

Through their innovative approaches and person-centred care, Sara-Louise and Leighann have created an environment where residents feel valued, included, and empowered to participate in decisions about their daily lives. Whether it’s developing tailored activities based on individual preferences or fostering a sense of community within the home, their commitment to ensuring meaningful involvement for each resident is evident in everything they do.

Enhances Clyde Valley was also proudly nominated for the prestigious ‘Specialist Care Unit’ award, a recognition of the outstanding dedication and expertise of its staff. This nomination celebrates the tireless work of the entire team at Clyde Valley, who have worked hard to create a nurturing, supportive environment where residents are empowered to achieve their goals and maintain their independence.

Clyde Valley, a beautiful 33-bed care service located within Monteith House, specialises in providing care for young adults with severe mental health challenges and/or learning difficulties. The staff have built incredibly strong, trust-based relationships with residents, putting them at the heart of their care and ensuring that each individual is treated with dignity and respect. From helping residents enrol in college courses to reuniting them with lost family members, the team at Clyde Valley consistently goes above and beyond in supporting the personal journeys of those in their care. This nomination reflects the exceptional care, compassion, and commitment that the staff bring to their roles every day, making a real difference in the lives of the residents they support.
