Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Co-Ordinator to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our care home, you will work alongside another Activities Co-Ordinator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisted living, dementia care, and preferably learning disabilities, with a passion for creating engaging and meaningful activities tailored to the needs of our residents. Within the role, you will play a crucial role in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme that caters to the diverse interests and abilities of residents.
• Organise and lead group activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise sessions, and outings.
• Collaborate with care and nursing staff to ensure activities are aligned with residents' care plans and individual needs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation in activities.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes and make adjustments based on resident feedback and changing needs.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies needed for activities.
• Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages socialisation among residents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge/experience of working with people with learning disabilities or a willingness to learn.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and execute engaging programmes.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
• A compassionate approach to working with seniors and understanding their unique needs.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident preferences and feedback.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
