Enhance Healthcare Finalists at the 2025 Scottish Care Awards and Great British Care Awards

November 3, 2025

Enhance Healthcare is celebrating another incredible year of recognition, with three of our own reaching the finals across two of the care sector’s most prestigious awards, the Scottish Care Awards and the Great British Care Awards (Scotland region).

At this year’s Scottish Care Awards, we’re proud to see Susan McKenzie from Clyde Valley shortlisted for Nurse of the Year and Wallacetown Gardens nominated for the Specialist Unit/Service Award. Representing Enhance at the Great British Care Awards, we’re also delighted to see Jeni McCulloch from Arran View named as a Finalist for the Care Home Worker Award.

These nominations represent the very best of Enhance Healthcare - compassion, dedication, and a shared commitment to improving lives across our homes.

At Clyde Valley, Susan McKenzie’s nomination for Nurse of the Year recognises her extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment to person-centred care. Before Enhance Healthcare took over, Clyde Valley (then Monteith House) faced the threat of closure. Susan and the management team refused to give up, seeing potential where others saw challenge, and with the support of Enhance, worked tirelessly to turn things around. Since then, Clyde Valley has flourished, achieving consistently high Care Inspectorate grades and becoming a sought-after home known for its warmth, innovation, and stability. Susan’s professionalism, kindness, and deep respect for both residents and colleagues have made her a true role model within the Enhance family. Her introduction of Nutrition Champions and Future Care Planning has helped residents live fuller, healthier, and more independent lives.

At Wallacetown Gardens, the team’s nomination for the Specialist Unit/Service Award highlights the outstanding work they do every day to empower residents and promote independence. Supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and complex conditions, the focus is always on helping each person reach their full potential.

What truly sets the team apart is their dedication to creating experiences that go beyond the walls of the home. Staff regularly organise and accompany residents on holidays and overnight. These one-to-one trips require enormous amount of time, planning, and commitment, with staff volunteering their own time to ensure residents can safely enjoy the kind of experiences many take for granted. The joy and confidence these trips bring are incredible to see, and they have become a real highlight for everyone involved.

At Arran View, Jeni McCulloch's nomination for the Care Home Worker Award in the Scottish regional finals of the Great British Care Awards recognises her outstanding professionalism and the positive impact she has on both residents and colleagues alike. Jeni is known for her approachable, compassionate nature and her willingness to share her knowledge and support others. She delivers care to the highest standard and is admired by her peers for her dedication, teamwork, and genuine kindness. Her commitment and calm, reassuring presence make her an invaluable part of the Arran View team and a shining example of Enhance Healthcare’s values in action.

Together, these finalists represent the heart of Enhance Healthcare - passionate, dedicated professionals who put people first and continuously strive to improve the lives of those they support. Each nomination is recognition of individual excellence, as well as a reflection of the teamwork, values, and compassion shared across all of our homes.

We couldn't be prouder of Susan, Jeni, and the whole Wallacetown Gardens team for this incredible achievement. We wish them every success at the upcoming ceremonies in Glasgow this November. These nominations belong to everyone across Enhance Healthcare. Every home, every team, and every member of staff contributes to the culture of care, compassion, and dedication that makes our group so special. Even when the spotlight isn't on you, your work is seen, valued, and deeply appreciated - and we couldn't be prouder of the difference you make every day.
